Russian and Ukrainian presidents to negotiate in Astana

7th January 2006 - The President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko will hold a number of bilateral meetings with heads of CIS states during the inauguration ceremony of the Kazakhstan President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, which will be taking place in Astana on January 11, 2006.

In particular, Victor Yushchenko will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the course of the meeting Ukrainian President intends to discuss the issues on gas-transport sphere and propose several initiatives on the construction of gas pipelines coming across Ukraine to increase gas transit.
