Top political party of Kazakhstan to be renamed

ASTANA, December 22 - The renaming of Otan party was backed by the majority of its members gathered in Astana at the extraordinary congress on Friday.

The leading political party of Kazakhstan was renamed Nur-Otan.

Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, the acting chairman of the party, said the new title symbolized the democratic ideology of the party, its national character.
